Food and diet

Hi, my favourite recipe when cooking is the recipe for little fairy cakes. They are in most diabetic cook books and I love them. They have reduced sugar so you can eat as many as you want! What are your favourite recipes? If you have any new recipes that I could add to my recipe page on www.kidsdiabetes.co.uk then post the recipe on the blog or email me at emm@kidsdiabetes.co.uk. x x x

i generally have been taught that avoiding sugar is not really effective because it is carbohydrates in general that you have to take insulin for.

I agree with this comment that it is carbohydrates that insulin is needed for, but sugars play a role in your sugar levels. if you eat too much sugar then your sugar levels will rise but it will only be a short term effect.
